The Argentine, who has one year left on his contract, admitted his fate is not in his hands in an interview with Sky Sports before walking out.

He said after the match: "Enough is enough. All managers need time to translate their ideas and philosophy.

"It's not my decision [if I get time]. I don't know [if I am being judged by the owners].

"It's difficult to see every single week that I am under scrutiny and judgement.

"It's not my decision whether to be here or not to be here [next season].

"I can't say nothing. What I can say is if after the decision, if we want to match the history of Chelsea it's a lot of work to do. We'll see if we have time to build this way."

Fans were quick to pick up on Pochettino and his lack confidence over his job with one replying on social media: "Pochettino is actually gone, why do I feel sad for him?"

This fan posted: "Pochettino is gone for sure, this post match interview is horrible."

While a third put: "Pochettino doesn’t seem very confident about being here next season in that interview…"

Another wrote: "This interview from Pochettino is CRAZY! This is a man resigned to being sacked."

Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Gary Neville insisted it would be ridiculous for Chelsea to sack Pochettino now.

"There was talk of Pochettino being under pressure a month or so ago," he said. "But I think it would be madness to change the coach whose quality of work with these types of player is renowned.

"Making sure you have stability through another transfer window seems more critical than the idea someone else would come in and do a better job. That doesn't feel right here.

"He's a proven coach. One of the great coaches in the Premier League in the last five, six, seven years.

"Pochettino has had some up and down moments this season. But this is a good one."

Chelsea have had a difficult season and have been toiling in mid-table throughout the campaign.

However, the win over Tottenham takes them into eighth - and they are three points off sixth-placed Manchester United with Europe in their sights.

The Blues have lost just once in their last 11 Premier League matches - a 5-0 thumping from Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in April.

Nevertheless, Pochettino has come under immense pressure amid speculation that the club are looking for replacements.

Shock reports from Italy have linked former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who is currently a free agent after getting sacked from Spurs last season, to the post.

Other candidates that have been linked include Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi and Sporting's Ruben Amorim.
