The pair became embroiled in controversy on Sunday during Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 defeat at Everton which saw the Midland’s club call their officiating into question.

Forest were aggrieved that Attwell was selected for VAR duty despite allegiances to fellow relegation battlers Luton Town.

The club also called match referee Taylor into question after claiming he made three key mistakes during the clash.

They are part of eight English officials who will be going to the Euros in Germany.

Referees Michael Oliver and Taylor will go along with assistant referees Gary Beswick, Stuart Burt, Dan Cook and Adam Nunn as well as Attwell and David Coote, who will act as video assistant referee.

England will boast the joint-highest number of refereeing teams at the tournament and second to Germany for VAR representatives.

Oliver and Taylor will be tasked with officiating their second-consecutive Euros and their third major international tournament in a row after appearances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Oliver took charge of the quarter-final clash between Croatia and Brazil which saw the European nation triumph on penalties.

He also whistled the UEFA Super Cup final between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022.

Meanwhile, Taylor refereed France's UEFA Nations League final win over Spain in 2021 and last year's Europa League final.

Beswick, Nunn and Burt represented England at the 2022 World Cup, while Atwell and Coote are regulars in European competition and will be on hand to officiate in this summers Olympic games in Paris.
