Leicester are back in the Premier League at the first time of asking after Leeds United lost to QPR on Friday night.

The Foxes will return to the top tier next season with Leeds' 4-0 loss to QPR meaning Leicester cannot finish outside the top two with two games to go.

Ilias Chair, Lucas Andersen, Lyndon Dykes and Sam Field all scored for the R's to give them a resounding victory to help in their own battle to stay in the league.

While it was arguably Leeds' worst performance of the season, losing by their biggest margin since getting relegated from the Premier League.

Leicester had been the favourites to win the Championship this season after being relegated from the Premier League last year.

And while they still might relinquish the title, as Ipswich Town could mathematically catch them up, they now know they will not be in the second division for much longer.

Leicester had gone 11 points clear before Enzo Maresca's men hit shoddy form and even lost top spot momentarily.

But their title rivals have experienced their own problems, allowing the Foxes to sneak back ahead.

Without even kicking a ball, Leicester know that when they face Preston North End on Monday night, they will be returning to the Premier League no matter the result.

And while there will be parties in the streets of Leicester, there is also relief considering the off-field troubles that have hit the club financially.

The King Power Stadium outfit are under investigation for breaching Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules in their final campaign in the division before getting relegated.

It means that they could face a points deduction next season before a ball has been kicked, potentially leaving them in a perilous situation.

Clubs are not allowed to make losses over £105million over the course of three seasons, a figure that the Foxes are understood to have exceeded.

Everton and Nottingham Forest have faced similar charges this season and both clubs were hit with points deductions.

It means that next season, there could be major problems for Leicester - so while fans might celebrate on Friday night, the near future might not be so bright.
